You have most surely experienced it, although it is hard to put into words. It remains somewhere in our bodily memory, awaiting the next occasion. Let’s call it 𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦, for now, a special sense of abundance that only erupts when we gather and let ourselves be intoxicated by each other’s fantasies. In those moments, despite living in a bleeding, unfair world, things c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶b̶e̶ are otherwise.
Fuxia 2 is ecstatic to present the exhibition 𝑬𝑳𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑪𝑲𝒀, with Jenny Berg, Guido Ignatti, Santino Santillana and Antigoni Tsagkaropoulou. Doing so alongside writer and creative director Melina Ruiz Natali, and with the support and care of Skånes konstförening, fills us with joy.
While 𝑬𝑳𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑪𝑲𝒀 brings together four artists working across different aesthetic traditions and visual languages, their practices share a distinctive collective ethos. The exhibition touches on the relation between restraint and potentiality. It offers glimpses of uncontained longings and fractured belongings, travelling through family albums, natural catastrophes, otherworldly sisterhoods and fictional escape routes.
